What does a product feed contain?
Per product at minimum a unique ID, name, price, currency, product URL, image and category. Strong feeds add stock status, shipping costs, EAN codes and sale prices.
The feed is usually offered as CSV, XML or JSON and refreshed daily or more often by the affiliate network.
Why publishers cannot work without it
Comparison and content sites build their pages automatically from feeds. If your product is not in the feed, or the price is wrong, you simply do not exist for that partner.
A complete feed also prevents consumer frustration: nothing hurts conversion like a click that lands on a sold-out product or a mismatched price.
Quality rules for a good feed
Keep prices and stock current, use clean product titles without marketing language and make sure deep links lead directly to the right product page.
Automatically exclude sold-out products and test the feed in the network before publishers start working with it.
Feeds per market
If you sell in multiple countries, each market needs its own feed with local prices, currency and language. One feed for all of Europe does not work in practice.
DIKKE KASSA manages the feeds per country as part of programme management, so publishers always work with current local data.
