Affiliate newsletters publishers actually read

Sending generic updates to your publisher list is a waste of time. To get noticed, your newsletters must provide concrete value, exclusive data, and ready-to-use content.

Value-first communication

Publishers receive hundreds of emails every week. To stand out, your newsletter must contain actionable information like upcoming sales, new product launches, or exclusive commission offers.

Avoid corporate fluff and get straight to the point. Tell them exactly what is changing, why it matters to them, and what they need to do to earn more commission.

Providing ready-to-use content

Include pre-written copy, high-quality images, and deep links to specific categories or products. The less work a publisher has to do to promote you, the more likely they are to do it.

Offer different versions of the content for different platforms, such as short snippets for social media and longer descriptions for blog posts. This shows you understand their business needs.

Segmenting your audience

Don't send the same email to a high-end fashion blogger and a discount voucher site. Segment your list so you can provide relevant offers and content to each type of partner.

Personalise your outreach wherever possible. A short note acknowledging a partner's recent performance can go a long way in building a long-term relationship.

Highlighting top performers

Share insights on which products are currently converting best across your programme. This data helps publishers optimise their own content and focus on what is actually selling.

Showcasing successful campaigns from other partners (without revealing sensitive data) can inspire others to try new strategies. It creates a sense of community and momentum around your brand.

Consistency and timing

Maintain a regular schedule so publishers know when to expect your updates. Bi-weekly or monthly is usually sufficient, with extra alerts for major sales or technical changes.

Time your newsletters to give publishers enough lead time to prepare their content. Sending a Black Friday update on the Thursday before is too late; aim for at least two weeks in advance.
